About this bottle
Dom Pérignon is named after the Benedictine monk from the abbey in Hautvillers (pronounced oh-vee-LAIR) and has made only vintage Champagne from the start. Each wine comes from a single year and is made only when the year allows it.
On the nose, white flowers, citrus, mineral and smoky notes, with almond and brioche. On the palate the wine is precise and taut, with a long, very clean finish.
The blend combines Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and the wine ages in the house's cellars for many years before disgorgement. In a magnum the wine ages more slowly than in a standard bottle.
Serve at 9-11 °C in a glass that lets the wine breathe; with fish, shellfish and poultry in a delicate sauce. For an important celebration and for the cellar.
