About this bottle
Blanc de Blancs (pronounced blahn duh BLAHN) Grand Cru is a Champagne from the Forget-Brimont house made from Chardonnay from the Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs (pronounced koht day BLAHN): Avize (pronounced a-VEEZ), Le Mesnil-sur-Oger (pronounced luh may-neel syoor oh-zhay) and Oger (pronounced oh-zhay).
It has a pale lemon colour and delicate, long-lasting bubbles. It smells intense: buttery notes typical of Chardonnay, grapefruit and white flowers, acacia, daisy and honeysuckle. On the palate it is rich, with a vinous finish.
It is made from three vintages with 30-40% reserve wines and spends at least three years on its lees. It is ready to drink, but after another three years in the cellar it will reach its peak. It won a silver medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2011.
With pan-seared scallops, or simply for someone looking for a good Blanc de Blancs (pronounced blahn duh BLAHN).
