About this bottle
Bernard Bijotat is a family grower house from Romeny-sur-Marne, a village at the western end of the Marne Valley. Bernard runs it with his son Sébastien and makes Champagne from their own vineyards, mostly from Meunier, typical of this part of Champagne.
Blanc de Noirs (pronounced blahn duh NWAR) is a white Champagne made from dark grape varieties, Pinot Noir and Meunier. Such a Champagne is usually fuller and fruitier than blends with a high share of Chardonnay.
It works well with food: poultry, cured meats, pâtés and mature cheeses. An interesting choice for those who want to try Champagne from a grower rather than a great house.
About the houseA family of growers from Romeny-sur-Marne, a village on the Marne between Charly-sur-Marne and Château-Thierry, on the Picardy edge of Champagne. Today two houses here bear the Bijotat name, run by two branches of the same family.History, people and stories: Bijotat
