About this bottle
Paul Bara is a family house in Bouzy (pronounced boo-ZEE), a grand cru village (pronounced grahn KREW) in the Montagne de Reims (pronounced mohn-TAN-yuh duh RANS), a village famous for Pinot Noir.
This is a rosé Champagne typical of Bouzy: it has a firm structure and an intense finish.
The base is Pinot Noir with a little still red wine added. The wine does not go through malolactic fermentation and spends three years on its lees.
With salmon, duck and red-fruit desserts.
A half-bottle is enough for two or three glasses. A good choice for a dinner for two or for trying this Champagne without opening a full bottle.
About the houseThe Bara family has farmed vineyards in Bouzy since 1833 and owns only grand cru plots here. The house focuses on Pinot Noir, blocks malolactic fermentation and makes one of the most highly regarded red wines in Champagne.History, people and stories: Paul Bara
