About this bottle
Le Mesnil is a growers' cooperative in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger (pronounced luh may-neel syoor oh-zhay), a grand cru village (pronounced grahn KREW) in the Côte des Blancs (pronounced koht day BLAHN), a village famous for Chardonnay.
A Champagne in which fruitiness and creaminess are well balanced.
It is made from Chardonnay from several vintages, chosen with finesse in mind. It spends 36 months on its lees.
As an aperitif, with fish and seafood.
A magnum holds two standard bottles. In a larger bottle the wine matures more slowly, and it makes an impression on the table, which is why a magnum works well at a wedding, on New Year's Eve and at a larger party.
About the houseA cooperative from the village that many consider the best place for Chardonnay in the world. Most of its wine is bought by the big houses, and only a small part is bottled under its own Le Mesnil label, sold at a fraction of the price of its neighbours on the same chalk.History, people and stories: Le Mesnil
