About this bottle
The Demi-Sec of the Bernard family of Dizy (pronounced dee-zee) is a choice for lovers of sweeter Champagnes.
Like the Brut Tradition it is fresh and fruity, with notes of yeast and French bread, only distinctly sweeter. It tastes best well chilled.
The proportions of varieties are the same as in the Brut Tradition: 60% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 5% Meunier from Premier Cru (pronounced pruh-MYAY KREW) and Grand Cru villages around Dizy. Only the dosage is different.
With dessert. It is hard to find a sweet dish it would not suit.
About the houseA family house in Dizy, a village next to Hautvillers, where the Bernards' ancestors have grown vines since at least the 17th century. The founder, Arthur Bernard, made his own Champagne after hours while working for someone else, and dug the cellars where the bottles lie today with his own hands.History, people and stories: Alain Bernard
