About this bottle
Tradition Brut is the core Champagne of the Bernard family of Dizy (pronounced dee-zee), a popular choice with restaurateurs and hoteliers.
It is fresh and fruity, with noticeable notes of yeast and French bread. It tastes best well chilled.
The blend is 60% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 5% Meunier from the Premier Cru villages (pronounced pruh-MYAY KREW) Dizy, Hautvillers (pronounced oh-vee-LAIR) and Cumières (pronounced kyoo-myair) and the Grand Cru village of Aÿ (pronounced ah-EE). The experts at Magazyn Wino rated it very good.
As an aperitif, with a meal and for cheerful get-togethers. It also comes in a 0.375 l half-bottle and in magnum; ask about these formats when you order.
About the houseA family house in Dizy, a village next to Hautvillers, where the Bernards' ancestors have grown vines since at least the 17th century. The founder, Arthur Bernard, made his own Champagne after hours while working for someone else, and dug the cellars where the bottles lie today with his own hands.History, people and stories: Alain Bernard
