About this bottle
Philipponnat is a house from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ (pronounced ma-RUH-ee sewr ah-EE), whose family has grown vines in Champagne since 1522. It is famous for Clos des Goisses (pronounced kloh day GWASS) and from its reserve of wines in barrels, to which it has added new wine every year since 1946.
Royale Réserve Brut is the former name of the house's core Brut: since 2025 this wine has been called Réserve Perpétuelle (pronounced ruh-ZAIRV pair-pay-tew-EL) Brut. It is based on Pinot Noir and reserve wines kept in barrels.
It goes with poultry, fish and cheese.
