About this bottle
Carte d'Or is the entry-level Champagne of the Loriot family from Festigny in the Marne Valley. It is light, lively and delicate, made for a summer aperitif or as a winter reminder of summer.
It is pale in colour with a hint of lemon and salmon, and the white mousse lingers in the glass for a long time. On the nose, apple and grapefruit with a hint of dry hay and mint. On the palate, apple and plum, ending with grapefruit and a delicate bitterness. Although it is a Brut, it comes across as pleasantly sweet.
It comes from the Loriot family's vineyards, where Meunier predominates. The grapes are picked by hand, the wines ferment in small steel vats, and the whole Champagne is made on the estate in Festigny.
For a summer aperitif, a garden party or a wedding, when you need a Champagne that is light and easy to drink.
About the houseA family of growers from Festigny, descended from Jules Léopold Loriot, born in 1838, who have made their own Champagne since 1929. Loriot-Pagel combines Meunier from the Marne valley with Chardonnay from the Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs, and submits only vintages made from Meunier alone to the Club Trésors de Champagne.History, people and stories: Loriot-Pagel
