About this bottle

Jean de La Fontaine Champagne Brut is a dry white sparkling wine from France. It is a Champagne in a classic, fruity style, a non-vintage blend of Champagne grapes made as a versatile wine for celebrations and aperitifs. On the nose, green apple, citrus and white flowers, with a delicate hint of brioche. The bubbles are lively and delicate, the palate fresh and fruity, and the finish clean and refreshing. Being non-vintage means that each year a consistent blend of several vintages is made, giving a reliable, recognisable style. An obvious choice for a toast, an aperitif and celebrations. It also works with seafood, sushi and light snacks. A Champagne that combines a sense of occasion with an approachable character.

About the houseThe label bearing the fabulist's name is the second brand of the family-run Baron Albert house from Charly-sur-Marne, a dozen or so kilometres from Château-Thierry, where Jean de La Fontaine was born in 1621. Today the house is run by three sisters, the founder's granddaughters.History, people and stories: Jean de La Fontaine
